Designed for the year 2030, O-lec concept, acronym for online electric car, by the British industrial designer, Scott Gilbert, is about a unique idea to harvest power from an unusual source no one has yet thought of, the road. Yes, instead of using fuel cells or power cord to power the car, O-lec directly harvests power from the road using inductive power transfer. A personal mobility vehicle that has a seating capacity for two people seated in tandem arrangement, the online electric car has sleek design to ensure easy maneuverability in congested traffic and can be rented from urban centers for short-range driving. Though still a pipe dream, but if ever gets into production, it’ll come out to be a good alternative to fuel powered or even battery powered cars.

Cheers, Scott Gilbert!
